Plain Sense Ltd is a one woman consultancy delivering the multiple consultancy, speaking and training skills of Christine Burns MBE. Christine's basic skills are rooted conventionally enough in a successful 30+ year career as a business and IT consultant. In that capacity she has delivered dozens of successful and often highly innovative change projects. Her careful attention to detail as a project manager means these have all been on time, on budget and in excess of the customer's expectations. She has then taken that skill and combined it with fifteen years of experience in equality and diversity advocacy to create an offering that is especially valuable in a world of rapid change. Christine earned her MBE for the work she has done to help ministers and civil servants implement new laws to protect one of Britain and the world's smallest minorities -- transsexual people. In the process of working collaboratively with specialists in other equality fields she has gone on to become a rounded expert in the best practice of equal opportunities and inclusion.
- She chairs the North West region's Equality and Diversity Group -- a forum for over fifty public, private and voluntary sector stakeholder organisations, including the Regional Assembly, the Regional Development Agency and Government Office North West.
- She has worked for some time as an advisor or workstream chair in committees set up by the Department of Health
- She is also regularly booked as a keynote speaker and provides off-the-shelf or customised training and talks on diversity topics.
